About my practice

I am a fully qualified, professional counsellor, registered with the British Association of Psychotherapy (BACP) and the Association of Christian Counsellors (ACC). I practice psychotherapeutic counselling using an integrative model, which means I draw from a few different approaches and can tailor the work to your needs.

I have a BA in Theology and Counselling from London School of Theology, which is an extensive training in counselling accredited by the BACP.

As well as my private practice, I have worked in a range of settings, including a rehabilitation centre working in addiction recovery and a local counselling agency.

I am committed to meeting the requirements of the BACP and ACC with regards to ongoing training and supervision. Clients are always welcome to ask questions about how I maintain professional standards of practice. Ensuring that my clients’ needs and goals remain at the centre of the work is of utmost importance to me.

“Self-awareness is a supreme gift, a treasure as precious as life. It is what makes us human.”

- Irvin D. Yalom, Staring at the Sun

I offer a general counselling service working with a diverse range of issues, including anxiety, depression, panic attacks, addiction, bereavement and more. My aim is not to fix you, but rather help you understand yourself better and therefore support yourself authentically.

I also specialise in working with clients to whom faith is important. My training combined Christian theology with counselling training, which I only include if it is relevant to you.

How I work

My approach is integrative, drawing mainly from Psychodynamic, Person-Centred and creative modalities. This means that rather than working from a single approach, we can be flexible, keeping what works for you and leaving what doesn’t. I also integrate a neuroscientific lens to mental health, as I find the more we understand what is going on in our brains and bodies, the better we can address it. I do not give advice or tell you what to do, but I may offer various evidence-based tools to support your journey.

My main aim is to build a relationship of trust, always coming from a place of compassion. The quality of our therapeutic relationship greatly impacts how effective counselling is, and this focus is what many of my clients find most impactful.
